alms-round day, quy nhon

a time when the lay people offers food to the monastics, a time when people practises giving and sharing, and a time when the monastics practises humility. on the evening before this day, thay has given some instructions. offering to one monastic is equivalent to offering to the sangha community. offering food also involves the practice of equanimity, where non-bias towards sangha members is observed. only vegetarian food should be offered. since the monastics will come in a row, lay people need not rush to offer to a particular monk or nun.

this is my second time observing an alms-round, and for a second time, there was an overflowing amount of food.
